Spiked: White tiger interest

Us cat minions serve the clannies – first and foremost. However, it doesn’t mean we got our heads buried in clannie issues only. There’s too much going on for that.

Meet the real captive-bred white tiger was one of the rambling ambling posts about an extremely BIG pet peeves of ours. Despite this being a blog focused on homeless cats in Singapore, this post and its predecessor, the White Tiger Fraud, have always been the most popular. This can only point to the fascination people have with the white tiger, and thus their naivete with the white tiger deception.

But on 22 March, we had a huge spike in blog hits, going from 423 to 7693!

And our white tiger posts accounted for 7099 of those hits. We’ve gotten quite a few new blog links too. I’ve been trying to figure where this sudden activity came from. And I’ve managed to find the source. On here: White Tigers. Who Knew?, there is a credit to a site called popbitch.

popbitch sends out a weekly newsletter, and I believe this is what led to the spike in our blog hits:

    Three-and-a-half years on from almost being
    killed by his white tiger, Montecore, Roy
    Horn is alive and even walking. He lives in
    constant pain, does not yet have use of his
    left side or leg and does many hours of rehab
    and exercise every day, but as Horn died
    four times and was told he'd never walk again,
    he's not complaining.

    "A doctor would try to pull a sheet over my
    head and I would push it back," says Roy.
    "He said `He won't make it,' and I started to
    meditate. I knew everything would be okay.
    God said it wasn't my time to go."

    Roy has vowed to return to show business - for
    the sake of his tigers. "The animals are
    waiting, too, to do something again."

    However, not everyone loves Roy and his
    lifetime's work breeding white tigers. Animal
    rights activists say there is a 80% white
    tiger stillbirth rate and, as the tigers are
    so in-bred, the most common result is a
    deformed, mentally sub-normal mutant.

I gather then, this is also why there’s a sudden influx of absolutely blinkered conclusion jumpers willing to die in defense of those two. (Thinking folks: If you’ve followed the comments on our meet the real captive-bred white tiger post, and find it entertaining, please do join in the fun too.)

Frankly, I am tired of conclusion jumpers, because they are repetitive, ad-naseum, and never ever have anything revelational to say at all.

I’m fine with debate and discussion – make a point and let’s talk, let’s all learn and perhaps widen our perspective. But thus far, I can only say I’m amused and bemused at the blindly faithful that have shown up. They’ve avoided every single question and doubt I’ve raised, blithely continuely chanting their mantra of delusion, and every point I’ve raised in my replies is on the post itself or in my first 3 replies to the horde.

How blissful it is to be blinkered and blindly faithful. The dutiful do not need or formulate their own thoughts it seem.

And on an off-topic, I’ve visited some of the places that have linked to the post. While it is expected to see some tunnel-visioned fixation with poor Kenny’s looks, I am still disappointed to see that many view Kenny as a joke, rather than realise and appreciate that he is the victim poster-boy of the cruel and deceitful white tiger fraud, that it is something that they can do something about.

The white tiger fraud is but a symptom of what is wrong with the world now. But all is not lost. When people wake up to the fact that it is up to us to say “Enough!”, we will see a beginning to the end of such terrible crimes. But time is running out.
