C’mon, admit it: culling is killing

Let’s just call a spade a spade, why don’t we, and admit culling is just a conscience assuaging synonym for killing.

The local authorities cull, avidly. Make a complaint, and if there is a non-human life involved in there somewhere, that life is at risk. The authorities “remove” the animal offending you, yes, but where does it end up? It ends up at the AVA , and the good authority of animal welfare and control certainly isn’t running a shelter.

Some delusional individuals prefer to assume that it is a kindness to call the AVA or SPCA about animal matters or send animals there. But is it?

Despite the killing fixation, we still have stray cats, and dogs in “We-so-clean-we-be-sterile-Singapore”. Puzzling isn’t it? The reality is, killing is not the answer, it never was and it never will. So why won’t the big honchos stop wielding the bloody wand of life-and-death, why do they continue to bash life instead of looking at alternative and admit eradication won’t work?!

Your guess is as good as ours. Because it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that eradication is a waste of resources, aka taxpayers’ money.
