Look at how frightened and pathetic the cats look – so much for being “pedigree”, and supposedly better than the DSH, or normal domestic cats that have to fend for themselves on the streets. The DSH on the streets are, at least, not subjected to such careless regard, and they have their dignity as living things unmarred by the exploitation these purebred cats suffered.
For a pedigree to end this way is more the norm than the exception – this inhumane, undignified end for animals exploited for profits. Take a look at Lucas – a labrador pup left to die in a breeding facility here in Singapore.
Ultimately, Lucas was lucky. So are these 200 cats, despite the cruelty dealt to them.
But don’t you wonder – How many other Lucases are out there, how many purebred cats are huddled together, all left to die, like so much garbage that no longer hold any value or worth?
Please, tec appeals for you to consider this: please consider adopting instead of buying. If you must buy your companion animal, be it dog, cat, tortoise or mouse, please do not buy from unethical breeders or pet suppliers!
** OVER 200 CATS SEIZED IN BLOUNT COUNTY **
~ Posted 12/18/06 ~
TEARS is currently working a case involving over 200 purebred Persian and Himalayan cats. Who knows how long these poor cats suffered before someone saw them and reported it. As you can see from the photos above, they were living in deplorable conditions and suffering from many ailments. Extremely matted – some not even able to walk or stand due to large, heavy mats. Some suffering from runny eyes & noses. All suffering from intestinal parasites.
They are frightened, unsocialized and desperate for help!
These cats were living 5-6 in an open wire crate – huddled together, forced to eat, drink, sleep and defecate all in a tiny, tiny area. A photo of one of the crates is shown above.
TEARS is asking for your help!
We do not have the space, the resources or the money to be able to save all these cats. They will need bathing and grooming. All will need deworming, vaccinations and testing for feline leukemia and feline AIDS.
They will need foster homes to help socialize them and show them that their life is better now. They will need forever homes to welcome them in and allow them the opportunity to be a family pet – loved and cherished.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
DONATE – Send in a monetary donation to the address below or by clicking on the PayPal logo. ** Please be sure and notate that it is for this case.
FOSTER one or more of the cats until permanently adopted. All expenses are provided by TEARS. You provide the love and encouragment they will need.
ADOPT one or more of these cats and show them that their nightmare is over. They will need time and patience, but will one day be awesome pets full of self-confidence and happiness.
Crosspost this URGENT situation to everyone you know. Word of mouth is powerful and the more people that know, the more help the cats can receive.

101 cats are now in the custody of TEARS. Though they are frightened and unsure of what is happening, this is truly the beginning of a new life for them.
Donations are still needed as each will need an extensive groom, feline leukemia/AIDS test, deworming, vaccination and flea prevention application.
Updates will be posted as they occur!
