April, Sat, 15 Dec 07: doing well and thanks

April_20071215_01x
April was out and about on Saturday when we visited.

Two days earlier, Foster Mum had already updated that she’s getting better from her bout of anemia. But it was still a relief to see her doing better ourselves.

She had taken over a shelf in a corner, and was enjoying herself and getting toasty.

I checked with MM, Foster Mum’s wonderful helper, who said that April is eating now, and is not so difficult to feed since she got better. I thanked MM profusely for taking such good care of April and every other cat in the cattery, which she brushed off with her usual modest shyness.

To the kind folks (in donation/pledge chronological order) who responded so quickly with donations/pledged amounts to our appeal for help with the vet bills for her and Joe, we say THANK YOU!

  • The Spots of Washington DC (they had actually made a general donation prior to the appeal)
  • Mr Edwin Tan (who offered to help even before we put up an appeal)
  • Kootoo, Muffin, and Milo
  • Suzanna
  • Dr Tan
  • Jee Meng
  • Julie N
  • Elaine J

We should have enough to cover the amount now. Should there be any balance amount left, it will be channelled to Corrie‘s anticipated vet bill, which will come mainly from the amount given by The Spots of Washington DC (their mum had said that she was fine with us disbursing it accordingly).

Angel, Sat, 15 Dec 07

Angel_20071215_02x
Sweet Angel, our Angel at the cattery, and not the duck-conquering Angel Miao.

Been a while since we updated on her. She’s been in a good mood in the past month – purring and greeting us. Before that, she was aloof, or maybe moody for some reason. Like Chrissy amd Frankie, her condition seem stable, and we’re happy to see her happy.

Chrissy, Sat, 15 Dec 07

Sweet Chrissy snoozing.

Since that time we vidded her PURRING, she’s been easily apurr. We’re happy to see her well as can be.

Frankie, Sat, 15 Dec 07

Frankie S-T-R-E-T-C-H-E-D to the max at the scratchpost.

He’s continuing to do well from his fortekor dosage change. *touch wood*

Corrie, Sat, 15 Dec 07

At the cattery,

Corrie, our special needs old girl, blissfully snoozing on Saturday. She’s been fluffless for a month now.

She went from looking like this

There is no denying her almost anorexic looks when her fur’s take off. We’re still not sure what’s her problem, but part of it is certainly her pickiness. Foster Mum says that sometimes she would only eat a certain type of fish, and refuse everything else, to the point that she’d rather go hungry than eat.

Because of this fishy penchant and its inherent issues, we’ve started her on Vitamin B and taurine supplements about 3 weeks ago to mitigate the potential issues. The taurine pills she would take with no problem. It’s a human-child, and therefore sweetened, citrus formula. The Vit B complex she refused to take, and it’s a normal human adult formulation.

Since last week, Foster Mum has noticed that Corrie seems to have developed dental issues. She was only eating soft foods, and for the past few days, seem to “leak” the soupy fish dish that Foster Mum makes for her. That is, the liquid dribbles from the side of her mouth. Foster Mum will be arranging for her to see the vet soon.

This pair of 5 month old sisters could as well be called the otah sisters. Found trying to eat otah leave wrappings, they’ve been whisked off to safety to await their permanant home. Vaccinated and litter-box trained. Preferably adopted together. (They will be sterilised upon reaching 6 months).

Shelly is me! I have intense green eyes and I wear a tuxedo coat with solid black and ginger patchwork. I LOVE company. If you also like company and like having an ardent audience following you around the home, I’m your girl! I’m litter-box trained, vaccinated and sterilised. So when are you visiting?

Shelly_20071215_04x
I’m always dressed for the occasion

Can’t you tell how much I LOVE people?

But I’m not always an excited kitty. I do have calm moments too.
