SOS: Save Yellowstone’s Bison: Stop the Senseless Killing

Cull, cull, cull. What’s the difference between how Olympics cities and the Chinese deal with cats and dogs (in fact, how Singapore does it), the South Africans deal with elephants, and the Americans deal (near death-blows) with Bison in the Yellowstone, that venerable grand dame of National Parks?

Hi friend,It’s crazy, senseless and frankly, stupid: our government is spending taxpayer money to trap and kill bison migrating out of Yellowstone National Park to the Horse Butte Peninsula – in the name of protecting cattle – even though there are no longer any cattle grazing on this land. Please urge our government to stop killing Yellowstone’s bison!

Yellowstone’s buffalo are needlessly killed when they leave the borders of the park by state officials who fear the animals will spread brucellosis to cattle, even though there has never been a single case of a buffalo in the wild spreading this disease to cattle. More than 3,000 of these buffalo have been killed in the past 15 years.

Local landowners and conservation groups are urging the federal government to stop killing bison on the Horse Butte Peninsula immediately. Please urge the Department of the Interior to stop the slaughter of Yellowstone’s bison now!

Thank you for protecting America’s wildlife today,

Once more than 20 million wild bison roamed across many parts of the United States. Today just a few thousand remain and the only place where wild, continuously free bison exist is Yellowstone National Park.
