MIA Jun 06. Young female, white with grey patches. Very affectionate and trusting. Suspected semi-pet cat. First sighted in May 06. De-mojoed Jun 06. Not sighted since.

Isaac not around, Cari MIA

Isaac’s not around today – strangely because he’s not one to venture far or miss meals.

Cari has been missing since Jun 11, the day Isaac returned. I hope the bad weather on that day didn’t have anything to do with her disappearance.

Isaac only needs ear-tipping, Corrie too weak to de-mojo

V called, as we suspected, Isaac only needed his ear tipped.

Unfortunately, we were right about Corrie too. Here we hit a dilemma. Foster mum had said she was up to her ears, but we couldn’t care for Corrie ourselves, and she can’t be let back out to fend for herself. But there was no harm asking, so I called Foster mum… thankfully, she decided yes, she could take Corrie on. On the spur of the moment, I asked if she could take Izzy too… and again, YES. I think I will try my luck when we find Samia too.

As a signthat not everything went right, we also tried to get Buddy, and were again eluded.

Big day – Cari homecoming, Isaac taking over, and a new dame

Cari’s back, and duly marked as a clan member. She’s ravenous, and we’re happy to feed her, along with Izzy. Still no Samia.

Well, V handed us a carrier, and got 2 in return. Isaac, sweet boy, was easy to shunt into his carrier. Buddy, the irascible, hoewever, had once again eluded us.

I hurried home from work as early as I could, and managed to get Isaac in a blink. After securing him in our bathroom, I had gone to Area 2 to meet up with btmao and we tried to get Buddy. After the sly one escaped, we trudged home and lo! sitting at the void deck was a sandy long-haired, long-tailed beauty, with brown colour-points and the most amazing light-blue eyes. She looked ok, aside from the dazed bewilderment that seem to haunt every abandonee we’ve met.

btmao and I exchanged a look, and we spread out food for her. It took her a bit to start nibbling, and it was obvious she wasn’t sure if it was food we gave her, again typical of pampered pets newly thrown out. But once she decided the spread was edible, buy did she eat! She was very friendly and easy to handle.

V was coming over with Cari and told to expect 2 boys, we might as well see if we can de-mojo her in place of buddy.

But as I observed her, and from my handling, I realised she was terribly emaciated. We started to get worried.

As we received Cari from V, and handed over Isaac and Corrie, the newly christianed grand dame, we described the two to him. V concurred Isaac may need only a ear snip. Corrie though needed an exam before we could decide what to do for her. i wasn’t hopeful that she was sterilised, nor that she was healthy enough to withstand the procedure.

Well, we’ll see how it goes.

Cari should be tipped by now, plans for Isaac, and worrying for Samia

Well, this is the big day for Cari. She’ll be back on the 8th.

It’ll be like passing the baton – Isaac for sure will be around. I’m hoping we can get Buddy too.

Here’s the thing: I think Isaac’s already neutered – his jewels has the typical raisin look. Given his friendliness, and condition, I’m really suspicious that he’s an abandoned pet. Plus the timing is too fitting – the June school holidays. I really would like to be there the day the people who abandone pets at will get a taste of the same medicine from their loved ones.

Samia still missing.

Cari – mojo removal bound!

Ivan and Cara had table manners every bit as irritating as btmao claimed – slow to show, slow to decide to eat, slow to eat, easily distracted… but no this not about them.

I mentioned them just to to illustrate how granny-like they are during dinner.

I expected to be home before btmao, but of course, when I did get home, Cari was safely ensconded in the room, waiting on V’s pickup for overnighting.

She was so sweet – no panic or wariness at all. In fact she wanted to play. She’s quiet, but if she knows someone’s around, she would call softly, and if if you peep in, she’ll be headbutting the carrier door – definitely a free-ranging pet cat or a newly abandoned free-ranging pet cat!

V was tied up, so I have a long wait ahead of me for Cari’s pickup. But at least she’d be done – another female less to worry for.

Since March, btmao has been telling me about a siamese X male with a dark brown and grey coat, beautiful but very CROSSED blued-eyes in the Clan’s Area 2. He often sticks to Sasha, a yr old pretty siamese cross with a perfect tail and a lovely personality to match. So what else can we call him but Buddy?

Of course, we wanna rob his mojo, his ‘grapes’ were more than ready to be plucked. But the problem is, he’s not a regular. So we’ve been getting nightmares about seeing kittens in Area 2, as there’s at least 1 new girl there, Satin who was also, at that time, elusive and difficult to fix an appointment with (thank goodness for providence, because we managed to catch her and got her done on May 10).

But all this time, I’ve never managed to meet him.

Tonight, just now, I did!

A girl in the neighbourhood had told btmao of a ‘new big male’ in Area 1. We had wanted to investigate. But as usual, btmao was held up with work. She asked me to help feed the Area 1 horde.

Imagine my surprise, when I heard LOUD reverberating calls when gathering Samia and Izzy for their meal (Cara, Ivan the Terrible, and Cassie eats in the carpark).

With the wunder duo following, I soon located the source – a largish male-looking cat through the drain grilles.

He looked up, and the first thought that went through my head was “Buddy!” Because there was no mistaking the crossed blue eyes.

What on earth was he doing in Area 1? That was a question for later. We called V, our trusty pet transport guy, to arrange for overnighting and the mojo-rob.

But after that, I had another problem to solve. I had to do something right then. Buddy was LOUD and leery of attention, but hungry.

Food quietened him, but in slow stages. While I waited for btmao to hurry back and get the carrier, I followed him at a distance. He went round the area, spray-marking EVERYTHING, and the area was dominated by Ian.

I remember seeing Ian going home from territorial patrol duty before that, and groaned at the possible conflict should these two meet.

But though Buddy was busy with stake-claiming, he didn’t seem blood-thirsty. In fact, Izzy and Samia were intrigued and also tailed him/me. But Buddy did not attack or act aggressively. In fact, it was Samia who was back-arching and hissing. Izzy, as usual, was just eager to be friends.

After what seemed like an eternity going in circles and getting all-angled views of Buddy and his spray equpiment, btmoa finally called to say ETA in 10, and that Cari was on the Area 2 side of the buffer zone. BONUS!

I quickly called V about adding one more.

By this time, Buddy seemed to satisfied with his spraying in the area, and started to move toward the carpark.

I got worried, because it would be easy to lose him in there. And he did! Curses! I decided to wait for btmao before trying to locate him again – after all she’s the one he’s familair with.

But guess what? It was another mini-drama moment in the carpark. I decided to feed Cassie whiel waiting.

btmao arrived with 2 cages, and lo and behold! There was Buddy, sitting in plain view, watching Cassie eat.

btmao set out the glutton entrapment, but too bad he refused to let her near. Strangely, he seemed to be wary even of her. Was it because of the new environment. We guess so.

Anyway, we lost him. I continued with Cara and Ivan, while btmao went off for Cari (hopefully she was still accessible and agreeable). Next time, Buddy and soon!
